The band are putting the final touches on their next album scheduled for a September release on Bros. Records. "A re-invention of roots blues" is how Mr. Barry describes the group’s lastest recording. It’s a departure from the trend set by their more recent albums which featured more original compositions by the band. Tentatively titled "Cry No More", on their latest effort they return to the blues classics from which the band’s strong reputation is based.

Stephen Barry was named the artist for the month of May at Le Blues Net..

The band has re-worked "Blues Anthology", a show that chronologically traces the history of the music, from its acoustic beginnings at the turn of the century through to its electrification in the 40's and 50's. Different styles, linked to cities or composers, are presented and the group performs in many configurations (solo, duo, etc...).

Guitarist Andrew Cowan can be heard with "The Catfish Blues Trio" every Friday, throughout the summer from 6 - 8 pm at "The Griffintown Café" , 1378 Notre Dame W. The band also features the vocals and harmonica of Bharath Rajakumar , who guests on the new album, and Mark Peetsma on standup bass. They have just released a mini-cd.
